The CVIR Endovascular Reviewer Forum

by Prof. Jim Reekers, Editor-in-Chief

CVIR Endovascular introduced a new initiative to help young interventional radiologists advance their career by helping to increase their academic profile. Membership of an Editorial Board is important for any academic career; however only a few are asked to serve as Editorial Board Members. We want to offer young IRs the opportunity to take this step in becoming an Editorial Board Member.

Therefore, in 2019 we initiated the CVIR Endovascular Reviewer Forum as a new option for you to take your future into your own hands.

As a member of the CVIR Endovascular Reviewer Forum, you will need to review four papers in the first year as junior reviewer. In the second year, you will climb up to the position of senior reviewer, where you will have to review another five papers per year, over a two-year period. At the end of the second year as senior reviewer, you will be invited to join the editorial board of CVIR Endovascular.

To be eligible to join the reviewer forum, you have to be a member of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE).

Additional requirements for joining the Reviewer Forum include:

  • Active practice in IR
  • EBIR holder
  • 5 peer reviewed papers published in IR
  • 2 lectures or posters at CIRSE's annual meeting
  • Active participation in one of the “How to review for CVIR Endovascular” workshops at the annual CIRSE meeting

To become a member of the CVIR Endovascular Reviewer Forum, please send us your CV at info@cvirendovascular.org
