As 2024 is ending, we at CVIR Endovascular look back at a very successful year.
We received more papers than ever which resulted in an increase in published papers. However, we think it is important to stay close to our initial goals of quality above quantity. I have chosen 12 papers below to reflect this high standard of quality.
We have a stable impact factor of 1.2 and hope to grow in 2025. We have also seen that the number of downloads is still growing rapidly which confirms our position as a vital international platform for IR knowledge exchange. Also this year, we successfully introduced the new visual abstract category and continued with our series of author’s interviews.
In September 2025, a new editor-in-chief will take over and I am certain that this new editor will carry the flag of CVIR Endovascular further up the mountain. It was a great honour for me to be the founding editor, but the establishment of this journal and its success could not have been possible without all of you. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to you – our readers, authors, and reviewers for your unwavering support and dedication throughout the year.
Your contributions have played a vital role in shaping the success of CVIR Endovascular. A big thank you also to the team of our editorial office in Vienna for its enthusiastic and professional support!
I wish you all a happy holiday season and a good and scientific 2025!
Jim Reekers
Editor-in-Chief of CVIR Endovascular
